Empowering Learners One Story at a Time
Who am I as an educator?
I am a creative thinker committed to learning & growing professionally. As an educator, I am passionate about fostering cultures of thinking and helping learners experience the value of deep exploration.

Over the past 14 years, I have been lucky to be part of teams tasked with transitioning schools into leaders in educational technology and innovation. Some of my contributions include:
Lunch & Learn Sessions are low-key social learning experiences with other #aislearns teachers. The aim is to give teachers a chance to share tools / techniques they're excited about - something that can be leveraged to create amazing learning experiences.
Transform is an iBook about contemporary teaching and learning practices captured at Shekou International School.
Teachers of #SISrocks delves into the "why" and "how" of what teachers do everyday. The aim is to share exemplar practice and spark connections.
Parallel Wars is a choreographed experience that grew from the existing standards-based curriculum at Shekou International School.. The exhibition provided learners with an authentic audience and allowed them to reach existing targets in more meaningful way.
Spotlight: Digital Publishing
Knowing that their work will mean something not just to themselves but to others fuels students creative fire and pushes them to create. Showcasing student work to a wider audience also emphasizes that writing, recording, presenting, etc... is a social process—an exchange of ideas between authors and readers, not just a performance for the teachers.
Spotlight: The Spark
Having an easily available space is indispensable to promoting innovative teaching practices and communicating scope. Managing this site has also proven to be instrumental in implementing a clear and concise coaching model that makes support highly accessible to educators, students and the wider community.
Spotlight: Capturing China
In addition to complementing our Chinese program and students’ study of Mandarin, this exchange married a love for documenting and showcasing learning with the belief that students would return home with a deeper understanding of China including the people, history, cuisine, and culture.
Spotlight: Digital Citizenship Revamp
Needing to move towards a simple & useable program was the main idea behind our Digital Citizenship framework refresh. Start of the year sessions, Parent Mornings, Advisory lessons, etc.... were all prepared & structured to encourage a culture of thinking (and doing). The framework not only became a centerpiece of our middle school advisory program, it brought some life, laughter, discussion and good will to our classrooms and school community.
