Who am I as an educator?
I am currently a digital coach and computer science instructor at #AISLearns. Building relationships and fostering a culture of collaboration guide much of what I do. My aim - to allow learners the space to seek out and engage with their interests, to help them experience the value of deep exploration, and to offer them the weight of our experience and learn alongside them.
To learn more about me, feel free to follow me on Twitter using @4lexgutierrez.
Over the past 13 years, I have been lucky to be part of teams tasked with transitioning schools into leaders in educational technology and innovation. Some of my contributions include:
Teachers of #SISrocks delves into the "why" and "how" of what teachers do everyday. The aim is to share exemplar practice and spark connections.
Transform is an iBook about contemporary teaching and learning practices captured at Shekou International School.
Parallel Wars grew natively from the existing standards-based social studies curriculum at Shekou International School. The exhibition gave us the opportunity to reach existing targets in a more meaningful way.
Hour of Code at SIS is a school-wide event that was ultimately driven by students and provided great snapshots of student thinking.
Leveraging digital tools and agile spaces to make meaningful connections.
We Made This
We Made This , was initially created to document student work but grew into an online space that harnesses the power of social media to connect students with real world experts and other artists.
Fostering deeper understanding through immersion and exchange
